Historic Night of Comedy

Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN is hosting a lineup made up of entirely Indigenous comedians on April 1st.

In what can be described as a first, April Fools Day at the House of Comedy will host a night rarely seen; a lineup made up entirely of Indigenous comedians at a major comedy club. The idea came up on a post on Facebook. The club was looking for new ideas to bring a whole different look, something fresh. Red Lake Nation Ojibwe enrollee Jon Roberts answered the call and made the suggestion to Minneapolis comedian Mike Brody, who was intrigued, as Roberts has been to many open mics over the past 8 years in the Twin Cities. After the initial date agreed upon had been pushed back, Roberts and Brody agreed to April 1st.

The lineup will consist of Indigenous comedians that have made their mark throughout the country. Comics such as Black Hills Comedy Fest winner Sheldon Starr of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, Minneapolis favorite Will Spotted Bear of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, internet viral sensation “The Rez Reporter” Rob Fairbanks of the Leech Lake Ojibwe, along with 2018 Native American Music Awards – Comedian of the Year nominee Jon Roberts.

Tickets for this historic night of comedy will be $16 and can be purchased at https://moa.houseofcomedy.net/
